What is the best way to apologize?

I hate when I say something that I later regret.  Sometimes words spill out of my mouth before I think things through, and they come out wrong or insensitive.  I wish I could delete my words as easily as I can when I write a blog, because it hurts my heart to think that I’ve offended someone.
As I’ve learned more about the energy of words, and how they affect people, I’ve come to an understanding that harsh words can actually create damage to cells of the person the words are directed toward.  The person may not be aware of it on a conscious level, but the harmful effects are real.
Although a true apology helps, “I’m sorry” may not undo energetic damage.   It is kind of like backpedaling.  It doesn’t move you back to where you were before the harm was done.  Time helps, as well, by allowing the sting to fade.
The words, “I take it back,” along with the intention of actually removing the energy of the harsh words from that person, can be far more powerful.  Taking back what we say, and reclaiming the injurious power of our words, can be healing for all parties involved.
Taking back the negative energy, needs to be done carefully and mindfully. The negative energy must be transformed into positive, so we don’t damage our own body.  We do that with a simple thought.  I like to imagine receiving energy back as intelligence so I can learn from what happened.
Alaya Chikly recorded a beautiful meditation on this.  The CD is called “Journeys of the Heart, Volume 1”, and can be found on Amazon.  I highly recommend it.  I’ve benefitted tremendously from listening to it, and have shared it with others who appreciated it very much.  It will not only make you feel great immediately after the meditation, but will give you a greater insight into the power of your words.
